What is Rotary?
Rotary is the largest private, non-profit, non-religious, non-governmental organization in the history of mankind.  It is the world's oldest service club dating back to 1905 when Chicago lawyer Paul Harris met with three of his friends on February 23 to kindle fellowship among members of the business community.  As the club grew, they rotated their meeting among the members' places of business.  Hence the name Rotary.  Before there was a world-wide web, Rotarians had built a network of business people worldwide, who provided humanitarian service, encouraged high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.  Today, there are over 31,000 Rotary Clubs in over 165 countries.
